Southwestern Area
Welcome to the Southwestern area of Central PA where visitors will find such attractions as Indiana University of Pennsylvania, the beautiful Allegheny Mountains, railroading history and much more. Visitors to this region will find themselves surrounded by many of the things that make America great: close-knit communities, beautiful landscapes, and well-preserved historical sites showcased with care. You may choose a bed and breakfast in either Williamsburg or Tyrone where you will have easy access to all the attractions that Altoona has to offer. For example, history buffs will enjoy a trip to the Railroaders Memorial Museum and Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark. Or maybe you're more interested in outdoor activities. Choosing an inn in Marion Center or Ebensburg will put you in close proximity to Indiana, PA as well as the Ghost Town Trail, a sixteen-mile rails-to-trails project that is open to many activities, including bicycling, hiking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing.
